Savory Southern cornbread dressing with sage, perfect for family gatherings and celebrations.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups crumbled cornbread
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 0.5 cup chopped celery
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • 1 tablespoon dried sage, or more to taste
Instructions:
  • Prepare all your flavorful ingredients.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and grease a 7x11-inch baking dish. Transfer crumbled cornbread to a large bowl.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add onion and celery, sauté until soft, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Combine the sautéed onion and celery with the crumbled cornbread, then mix in the chicken stock, eggs, sage, salt, and pepper until fully incorporated. Transfer the dressing into the baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30 minutes until the dressing begins to turn golden brown around the edges.
