Grandma's Farmhouse Turkey Brine

Prairie-inspired brine with vegetable stock, cranberry juice, and poultry seasoning.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups kosher salt
  • 3 tablespoons poultry seasoning
  • 3 tablespoons onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 4 quarts vegetable broth
  • 2 quarts water
  • 3 cups cranberry juice
Instructions:
  • Combine salt, poultry seasoning, onion powder, and black pepper in a large stockpot. Add vegetable stock, water, and cranberry juice and bring to a boil. Simmer over medium-low heat for 20 minutes. Cool to room temperature before serving.
  • Place the turkey in the chilled brine and refrigerate for 12 to 16 hours. Remove the turkey from the brine, dry it off, and proceed with your recipe's roasting instructions.
