Grandma's cake: Loaded with fresh apples, raisins, walnuts, and spices for a flavorful treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups peeled and chopped apple
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
  • 0.5 cup raisins
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and prepare a fluted tube pan by greasing and flouring it.
  • Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl, sifting them together. Set aside.
  • Combine the sugar, egg, and oil in a separate bowl. Gently stir in the flour mixture until just combined, then carefully fold in the apple, walnuts, and raisins.
  • Simply bake until a toothpick inserted in the cake comes out clean, for about 1 hour in the preheated oven.
