Satisfying Hamburger Casserole with Ground Beef, Tomatoes, Egg Noodles, and Cheesy Sauce - A deliciously comforting classic dish, perfect for easy home cooking.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (8 ounce) package egg noodles
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 large white onion, diced
  • 0.5 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese, or more to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown and crumble the ground beef in the skillet for 5 to 7 minutes until cooked through; then discard any excess grease.
  • Combine tomato sauce, sugar, garlic salt, and salt with the ground beef, and let it simmer for 20 minutes to meld the flavors. Cover the skillet and remove from heat.
  • While the sauce simmers, boil a large pot of lightly salted water. Cook egg noodles in the boiling water, stirring occasionally, until al dente, about 7 to 9 minutes. Drain well.
  • As the egg noodles cook, heat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish.
  • Combine sour cream, cream cheese, and onion in a bowl.
  • Create a cozy nest in the casserole dish with half of the egg noodles. Blanket them with half of the velvety sour cream mix, followed by half of the savory ground beef mix. Repeat the layers for a delicious encore. Shower generously with Cheddar cheese on top.
  • Bake until the cheese is melted and golden brown, about 25-30 minutes in the preheated oven.
