Cinnamon sugar-dusted yellow cake poked and topped with vanilla icing for a decadent honey bun cake.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 eggs
  • 0.66666668653488 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 3 cups confectioners' sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan with a touch of oil.
  • In a bowl, mix together cake mix, sour cream, eggs, and oil until well combined using an electric mixer for 3 minutes. Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  • Combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle over the batter in the pan. Then, pour the rest of the batter over the cinnamon-sugar layer in a steady stream.
  • Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 45-50 minutes in the preheated oven.
  • In a bowl, combine confectioners' sugar, milk, and vanilla. Pierce hot cake with a fork and drizzle sugar mixture over the top. Allow the cake to cool completely before serving, approximately 30 minutes.
