Upgrade your family meals with Grandma's iconic Southern mac and cheese recipe. Just 6 simple ingredients for a creamy delight.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 4 pounds Cheddar cheese, sliced
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 5 eggs, or more to taste
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  • 1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add elbow macaroni and cook until al dente, about 8 minutes. Drain well.
  • Create a delicious macaroni and Cheddar cheese casserole by alternating layers of macaroni and Cheddar cheese in a 5-quart baking dish, finishing with a final layer of Cheddar cheese on top.
  • Whisk together milk, eggs, and mustard in a bowl. Pour the mixture evenly over the macaroni, making sure to coat all the pasta.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the edges are just crisping up. Sprinkle with black pepper before serving.
