Moist and spiced sheet cake with chocolate walnut topping - a nostalgic delight!
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups applesauce
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
  • 0.5 cup raisins
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • In a bowl, combine flour, white sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cloves. In a separate large bowl, beat eggs and vegetable oil until creamy, then mix in applesauce. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until the batter is smooth. Fold in 1/2 cup walnuts and raisins. Pour the batter into a prepared baking pan.
  • Combine the brown sugar, 1 cup of walnuts, and chocolate chips in a bowl, then evenly spread the mixture over the cake.
  • Bake in the oven until a knife inserted in the cake's center comes out clean, for 30 to 35 minutes.
