Slow cooker ham and bean soup made with just 6 simple ingredients for a comforting and delicious meal.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound dry navy beans
  • 2 quarts water
  • 2 cups cubed cooked ham
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 3 carrots, peeled and shredded
  • 3 stalks celery, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
Instructions:
  • Place beans in a large container and cover with plenty of cool water. Allow to soak for 6 hours to overnight.
  • Drain the beans and transfer them to a slow cooker. Cover the beans with water and stir in ham, potatoes, carrots, celery, and onion.
  • Cook covered on High for 3 1/2 hours, then switch to Low and continue cooking for at least 6 1/2 hours to develop richer flavors.
