Maple Pecan Bars: Nutty crust, creamy vanilla center, chocolate topping, no coconut. Perfect for snacking - sweet and indulgent in small bites.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 5 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1.5 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 3 tablespoons instant French vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 4 ounces semisweet chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions:
  • Prepare a 9x13-inch dish by greasing it. Create the crust by melting 1/2 cup of butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Add sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract, stirring until sugar dissolves. Take off heat, blend in the egg until fully combined, then mix in graham cracker crumbs and walnuts. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the greased dish, smoothing it into an even layer. Chill in the refrigerator until cool, approximately 30 minutes.
  • Prepare the filling by creaming confectioners' sugar, 1/2 cup of softened butter, pudding mix, and milk until it turns smooth and fluffy. Spread the luscious filling over the chilled crust and refrigerate for an additional 30 minutes.
  • Melt 2 tablespoons of butter with chocolate over low heat until warm and pourable. Spread the topping over the cooled filling, ensuring full coverage. Chill for 15 minutes until set but still soft. Cut into squares and chill until firm.
