Grandma Mac's green beans: Tender green beans with onion and peppered bacon. Perfect for meal prep!
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 pound peppered bacon, chopped
  • 4 cups fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • water as needed
Instructions:
  • In a large pot, cook bacon over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Add onion and cook until bacon starts to brown slightly, about 4-5 minutes. Add green beans, coat in bacon grease, then add sugar, salt, seasoned salt, and enough water to cover. Bring to a boil.
  • Simmer covered until beans are tender, approximately 45 minutes.
