Generations-old snowball cookie recipe, a beloved holiday tradition.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup shortening
  • 0.75 cup butter, softened
  • 0.75 cup white sugar, or to taste
  • 4 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Cream together shortening, butter, and white sugar until smooth and creamy using an electric mixer. Mix in eggs and vanilla extract until smooth. Sift in flour and salt, stirring until dough forms; gently fold in pecans. Shape dough into 1-inch balls and place on a baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes until lightly browned. Allow cookies to cool slightly, then roll them in confectioners' sugar. Once fully cooled, give them another roll in confectioners' sugar for extra sweetness.
