Total Time:
Homestyle family favorite passed down through generations, cherished recipe from Grandma's kitchen.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups warm water
  • 3 tablespoons active dry yeast
  • 3 teaspoons salt
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 8 cups bread flour
Instructions:
  • Mix warm water, yeast, salt, oil, sugar, and 4 cups flour in a large bowl until fully combined. Allow the mixture to double in size as it rises.
  • Add approximately 4 cups of flour slowly while kneading until the dough is smooth. Place the dough in a greased bowl, ensuring it is coated by turning it several times. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise until doubled in size.
  • Gently press the dough to release air, allow it to rest briefly. Separate the dough into three equal portions. Form each into loaves, then transfer to three 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch greased bread pans. Allow to rise until nearly doubled in size.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35-45 minutes. Cover with foil for the last few minutes to avoid over-browning.
