Generational mac and cheese recipe, reminiscent of grandma's classic.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup elbow macaroni
  • 1.5 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 0.66666668653488 cup milk
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
  • 1 dash hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco®)
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) to create the perfect cooking environment.
  • Bring a pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook elbow macaroni until al dente, about 8 minutes; drain well.
  • Combine macaroni, rich Cheddar cheese, creamy milk, a fresh egg, zesty mustard, spicy hot pepper sauce, a pinch of salt, and a sprinkle of pepper in a bowl, then transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
  • Roast in the oven until golden and slightly thickened, approximately 45 minutes.
