Cheesy Tater Tot casserole with savory ground beef and green chiles - a comforting and easy dish.
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cans (4 oz) Old El Paso™ Chopped Green Chiles
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed Cheddar cheese soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (6 oz)
  • 1 bag (32 oz) Ore-Ida™ Tater Tots™ frozen potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons sliced green onions
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and generously spray a 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Cook beef and onion in a 10-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat for 8 to 9 minutes until browned; remember to stir occasionally. After draining, reduce heat to medium and mix in chiles, soup, sour cream, and salt until well combined.
  • Layer half of the Tater Tots™ on the bottom of the baking dish, followed by the beef mixture. Sprinkle 1 cup of Cheddar cheese over the beef, then add the rest of the Tater Tots™ and top with the remaining 1/2 cup of cheese.
  • Bake for 45 to 55 minutes until the casserole is bubbly and the Tater Tots™ are lightly browned. Sprinkle with green onions before serving.
