Zesty American green chili for a flavor wake-up!
Ingredients:
  • olive oil
  • 800 g pork mince
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 2 onions peeled and roughly chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic peeled and finely sliced
  • 2 green peppers deseeded and roughly chopped
  • 6 small green chillies roughly chopped
  • 4 large ripe red tomatoes chopped into small chunks
  • 1 romaine lettuce leaves washed and spun dry
  • ½ a bunch of fresh mint (15g)
  • 4 spring onions
  • 1 packet flour tortillas
  • 1 lime
  • soured cream or natural yoghurt to serve
Instructions:
  • Heat olive oil in a large pan over high heat. Add pork mince, dried sage, sea salt, and black pepper. Break up the meat with a spoon and cook for a few minutes. Add onions, garlic, peppers, and chillies. Stir and fry for 15 minutes until golden. Stir in chopped tomatoes and half a glass of water. Simmer for 10 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and lime juice. Stir in half of the chopped mint. Serve the chili on warm tortillas topped with lettuce, yogurt, mint, and spring onions.
