Haldi Ka Doodh (Hot Turmeric Milk)

Traditional Indian turmeric milk with warm spices for soothing sore throats and colds.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground turmeric, or to taste
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1 pinch ground ginger
  • 1 pinch ground cloves
  • 1 pinch ground allspice
  • 0.75 teaspoon honey, or to taste
  • 0.125 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Combine turmeric, cardamom, black pepper, ginger, cloves, and allspice in a small bowl and mix well; set aside.
  • In a small saucepan, warm the milk over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes. Stir in honey and vanilla until fully dissolved.
  • Combine 1 teaspoon of turmeric into the milk mixture and simmer on medium-low heat for 2 to 3 minutes until flavors meld. Strain the mixture.
