Decadent chocolate and nut-covered oatmeal bars. Pure bliss.
Ingredients:
0.33333334326744 cupvegetable oil
2cups quick cooking oats
0.5 cuplight brown sugar
0.25 cuplight corn syrup
1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
1cupsemisweet chocolate chips, melted
0.25 cupchoppednuts
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and generously grease an 8 or 9 inch square pan.
Combine vegetable oil and oats in a large bowl. Add brown sugar, corn syrup, salt, and vanilla. Press the mixture into the prepared pan.
Place in preheated oven and bake for 12 minutes. Allow to cool before serving.
Cut the dessert into 4 large squares, then remove from the pan. Drizzle generously with melted chocolate and sprinkle with nuts, if preferred. Let the chocolate set, then slice each square into 9 irresistible pieces.
