Decadent chocolate and nut-covered oatmeal bars. Pure bliss.
Ingredients:
  • 0.33333334326744 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups quick cooking oats
  • 0.5 cup light brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup light corn syrup
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, melted
  • 0.25 cup chopped nuts
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and generously grease an 8 or 9 inch square pan.
  • Combine vegetable oil and oats in a large bowl. Add brown sugar, corn syrup, salt, and vanilla. Press the mixture into the prepared pan.
  • Place in preheated oven and bake for 12 minutes. Allow to cool before serving.
  • Cut the dessert into 4 large squares, then remove from the pan. Drizzle generously with melted chocolate and sprinkle with nuts, if preferred. Let the chocolate set, then slice each square into 9 irresistible pieces.
