Asian-style BBQ sauce with hoisin and soy sauce, ideal for zesty hot dogs.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons grated gingerroot
  • 6 hot dogs
  • 6 hot dog buns, split
  • 6 green onions, thinly sliced
Instructions:
  • Preheat gas or charcoal grill. Combine hoisin sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and gingerroot in a small bowl; set aside.
  • Grill hot dogs over medium heat until they are hot, turning occasionally, for about 10 minutes.
  • Spread a generous amount of barbecue sauce on the inside of each bun. Fill the buns with the grilled hot dogs and top them with onions. Any leftover sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
