Cherry amaretto ice cream: Creamy blend of fresh cherries and sweet milk with a hint of amaretto liqueur for an extra cherry kick.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups pitted cherries
  • 1.75 cups heavy whipping cream, divided
  • 0.75 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 tablespoons amaretto liqueur
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, bring cherries, heavy cream, milk, sugar, and salt to a steaming point in about 5 to 7 minutes. Lower heat to medium-low and simmer for an additional 15 minutes.
  • Pour the cherry mixture into a blender, not filling it more than halfway. Blend in batches until smooth by pulsing a few times with the lid held down. Mix in the remaining 3/4 cup heavy cream in a large bowl.
  • Refrigerate until completely chilled for about 2 hours, then mix in amaretto liqueur, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Transfer the mixture into an ice cream maker and freeze following the manufacturer's directions.
