Spicy buttered roasted chicken legs for a budget-friendly dinner.
Ingredients:
  • 12 chicken legs, thawed
  • 1 pinch garlic powder, or to taste
  • 1 (12 ounce) bottle hot pepper sauce (such as Frank's® RedHot)
  • 0.5 cup butter, melted
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Cover a jelly roll pan with foil and place a wire baking rack on top.
  • 1. Fill a large pot with water, then infuse it with aromatic minced garlic, a hint of salt, and a dash of pepper; bring it to a lively boil. Submerge chicken legs and simmer until succulent and tender, approximately 10 minutes. Drain elegantly.
  • Lay the chicken legs on the wire rack and generously season them with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Roast in a preheated oven for 20 minutes. Turn over and roast until the juices run clear, approximately 20 more minutes.
  • Place the chicken legs in a slow cooker and generously coat them with hot pepper sauce and melted butter.
  • Simmer on low heat for 1 to 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld together.
