Indulge in decadent hot cross bun chocolate French toast for a special treat.
Ingredients:
  • 2 Free Range Eggs, lightly whisked
  • 80ml milk
  • 40.40 gm thickened cream
  • 10.00 gm cocoa powder, sifted
  • 10.00 gm caster sugar
  • 4 Traditional Hot Cross Buns*, day-old, split
  • 20g butter
Instructions:
  • Combine the egg, milk, cream, cocoa powder, and sugar in a large bowl, and whisk with a fork until thoroughly mixed. Add the hot cross bun halves and toss to coat evenly. Let it sit for 5 mins to soak.
  • In a large non-stick frying pan, melt half of the butter over medium heat. Add half of the hot cross bun halves and cook each side for 2 mins until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to serving plates. Repeat with the remaining butter and hot cross bun halves. Serve immediately.
