Traditional Turkish semolina halva dessert made with semolina flour, butter, pine nuts, and syrup.
Ingredients:
  • 5 cups water
  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 2 cups butter
  • 2.5 cups semolina flour
  • 0.5 cup pine nuts
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, simmer water and sugar until a syrup forms.
  • 1. In a saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the butter for about 5 minutes. Mix in the semolina and pine nuts. Keep stirring constantly until they turn golden brown, which should take 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Carefully drizzle syrup over the semolina mixture. Lower the heat and simmer until nicely thickened, approximately 5 minutes. Allow it to rest for 15 minutes before dividing the halva into small dishes.
