Traditional Turkish semolina halva dessert made with semolina flour, butter, pine nuts, and syrup.
Ingredients:
5cups water
3cups white sugar
2cups butter
2.5 cups semolina flour
0.5 cuppine nuts
Instructions:
In a saucepan, simmer water and sugar until a syrup forms.
1. In a saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the butter for about 5 minutes. Mix in the semolina and pine nuts. Keep stirring constantly until they turn golden brown, which should take 20 to 30 minutes.
Carefully drizzle syrup over the semolina mixture. Lower the heat and simmer until nicely thickened, approximately 5 minutes. Allow it to rest for 15 minutes before dividing the halva into small dishes.
