Indulge in a spooky chocolate dessert cob loaf dip, perfect for Halloween fun with assorted candies and creepy decorations!
Ingredients:
  • 600ml carton thickened cream
  • 300g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 20.00 gm dark cocoa powder
  • 16.00 gm brown sugar
  • 8.80 gm vanilla extract
  • 1 round cob loaf
  • Green fondant, to decorate
  • Assorted lollies, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a heatproof bowl, mix the cream and chocolate together. Place the bowl over a pan of simmering water (ensure the water doesn't touch the base of the bowl) and heat until the cream is warm and the chocolate begins to melt. Take the bowl off the pan and let it sit, stirring occasionally, until the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
  • Combine cocoa, sugar, and vanilla with the chocolate mixture, whisk together. Refrigerate for 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until thickened to a creamy consistency.
  • Using a sharp serrated knife, carefully cut the top off the loaf and set it aside. Remove the bread from the center of the loaf, saving it for later use, leaving a 1.5cm to 2cm-thick wall. Use the black edible marker to draw a jack-o-lantern face on the loaf. Roll out the fondant to create a stem for the loaf top.
  • Beat the cooled chocolate mixture with electric beaters until it resembles whipped cream. Transfer it into the cob loaf and garnish with lollies before serving.
