Whip up refreshing Jamaican ginger beer in no time with honey, lime, and only 6 ingredients. Let it sit for 3 days to enhance the flavors.
Ingredients:
  • 4 quarts boiling water
  • 3 cups white sugar, divided
  • 0.5 pound ginger root with skin, grated
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 0.5 cup lime juice
  • 1 cup brewer’s yeast
Instructions:
  • Set aside 1/2 cup of boiling water to cool down to lukewarm.
  • In a large plastic container, mix together the remaining boiling water, 2 cups of sugar, ginger, honey, and lime juice.
  • Combine 1/2 cup lukewarm water, 1 cup sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Allow the yeast to soften and form a creamy paste for about 5 minutes. Then, stir it into the ginger mixture. Cover and let it sit for 3 days.
  • Remove any foam on the surface, strain the liquid, and transfer the ginger beer into fresh storage containers. Refrigerate until chilled.
