Fun jam-filled bread scrolls with cinnamon, fried to perfection - a delightful treat for kids, like a fusion of French toast and doughnuts!
Ingredients:
  • 8 slices white bread, crusts removed
  • 80g Cream Cheese, at room temperature
  • 80g strawberry jam
  • 1 egg
  • 41.20 gm milk
  • 100g (1/2 cup) cinnamon sugar
  • 30g butter
  • 18.40 gm grapeseed oil
Instructions:
  • Flatten the bread with a rolling pin, spread each slice with 2 teaspoons of cream cheese, add 2 teaspoons of jam, then roll it up tightly to seal in the delicious filling.
  • In a shallow bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. Spread cinnamon sugar on a plate, then dip the rolls in the egg mixture.
  • In a frying pan over medium heat, melt half of the butter and half of the oil. Cook half of the rolls, turning occasionally, for about 4 minutes until they turn golden. Transfer the cooked rolls to the cinnamon sugar and give them a good toss to coat them. Repeat the process with the remaining rolls, butter, oil, and cinnamon sugar. Serve the delicious rolls warm.
