Create a stunning dark chocolate swirl pound cake with ease using cocoa powder swirled into the batter.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoons almond extract
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 6 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 0.33333334326744 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Instructions:
  • Begin by preheating your oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) and prepare a 10-inch tube pan by greasing and flouring it.
  • In a bowl, cream together butter and cream cheese using an electric mixer until smooth. Add sugar and beat until fluffy for about 3 to 4 minutes. Stir in almond extract, vanilla extract, salt, and baking powder. Beat in 2 eggs. Add 1 cup of flour and mix until combined. Repeat the process with the remaining ingredients, adding 2 eggs followed by 1 cup of flour until the batter is smooth.
  • Transfer 2 cups of the batter to a separate bowl and mix in the cocoa powder. Pour half of the plain batter into the pan, followed by half of the chocolate batter, and swirl with a knife. Repeat with the remaining batters, swirling gently.
  • Position the pan on the middle rack of the oven until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean, approximately 90 minutes.
