Upgrade your spaghetti with a flavorful blend of ground turkey and Italian sausage in a hearty homemade sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound Italian sausage links
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 6 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 (15 ounce) can chopped tomatoes
  • 2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 (16 ounce) package spaghetti
Instructions:
  • Bring a pot of boiling water to life and let the sausage dance in it until it's partially cooked, around 5 minutes. Take the sausage out and give it a slice.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground turkey, onion, and garlic until browned and crumbly, for about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess grease. Add sausage, tomato sauce, chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano, basil, and parsley. Bring to a boil, then simmer on low heat for an hour, stirring occasionally until flavors meld and sausage is fully cooked.
  • 1. Boil a large pot of lightly salted water. Add spaghetti and cook for about 12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until al dente. Drain the spaghetti and place it in a serving bowl. Top with sauce and toss well to coat.
