Decadent dark chocolate cake filled with boozy cherry pie filling. Bake for 40 minutes in a 9x13 inch pan.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 0.75 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cold
  • 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
  • 0.5 cup cherry liqueur
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 8-inch cake pans by greasing and flouring them. Create sour milk by mixing milk with vinegar, then set it aside.
  • Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Set aside. In another bowl, whisk eggs, oil, coffee, and vanilla. Add sour milk. Slowly mix in the flour mixture until just combined.
  • Transfer the batter into the prepared pans and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cake layers cool completely before filling.
  • Prepare the cherry filling by mixing together cherry pie filling and cherry liquor. Chill the cherry mixture before using it to fill the cake.
