0.5 teaspoongroundblack pepper
0.5 cupall-purpose flour
1cupshortening
0.5 cupbutter
1clovegarlic, minced
0.5 cuphot pepper sauce, or to taste
Instructions:
In a large bowl, toss chicken wings with apple cider vinegar, garlic salt, paprika, red pepper flakes, onion salt, and black pepper until fully coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let marinate in the refrigerator for 1 to 4 hours.
Coat chicken wings with a sprinkle of flour, ensuring they are well coated. Remove any extra marinade.
Preheat the oven to a toasty 425°F (220°C).
In a large skillet, heat the shortening over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken until golden on each side, approximately 5 to 7 minutes per side. Transfer the fried chicken to a baking sheet.
Roast the chicken in the oven until the juices run clear and there is no pink near the bone, approximately 20 minutes. Transfer the chicken to a platter lined with paper towels to drain.
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add garlic and cook until translucent, around 2 minutes. Stir in hot sauce and simmer on low heat for 5 minutes. Transfer the flavorful sauce to a large bowl.
In batches, toss chicken in the sauce in the bowl until well coated. Drizzle any extra sauce over the wings before serving.
