2cups water
0.5 cupfinely choppedgreen onions
0.5 cupuncookedwild rice
8slicesbacon
0.5 cupmargarine
0.75 cupall-purpose flour
0.25 teaspoonpoultry seasoning
0.125 teaspoongroundblack pepper
2cups half-and-half cream
1.5 cups cooked, dicedturkey meat
2tablespoons dry sherry
Instructions:
In a large pot over medium heat, combine chicken broth, water, green onions, and wild rice. Bring to a boil, then simmer uncovered for 35 to 40 minutes until the rice is tender.
Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Let it cool, then crumble and set aside.
Once the rice is cooked to tender perfection, gently melt the margarine in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. Add in the flour, salt, poultry seasoning, and pepper simultaneously. Keep stirring until the mixture is smooth and starts to bubble. Pour in the half-and-half and continue cooking until it thickens, which should take about two minutes. Combine the half-and-half mixture with the rice mixture. Mix in the bacon, turkey, and sherry. Heat everything thoroughly and then it's ready to be served.
