Elevate your chocolate chip cookies with spelt flour and mix in sunflower seeds, almonds, coconut, or oats for a delicious twist!
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup packed brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1.75 cups spelt flour, or more if needed
  • 0.5 cup chocolate chips
  • 0.5 cup chopped pecans
Instructions:
  • Position one oven rack on the lowest level and another on a higher level. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Cream together brown sugar, butter, egg, and vanilla extract in a bowl using an electric mixer until creamy. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Gently mix flour mixture into the brown sugar mixture until fully incorporated. Fold in chocolate chips and pecans. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet.
  • Start by baking in the preheated oven on the lower shelf for 5 minutes. Then, transfer the baking sheet to the upper shelf and bake until the edges are lightly browned, which should take about 5 more minutes.
