Dress up ice cream cones with homemade chocolate cake batter, topped with creamy cream cheese frosting for a delightful and indulgent treat.
Ingredients:
  • 10 flat-bottomed wafer ice cream cones
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.25 cup buttermilk
  • 0.33333334326744 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 0.5 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Place ice cream cones upright in 10 muffin cups.
  • Combine flour, white sugar, baking soda, and salt in a mixing bowl, then whisk together until well blended.
  • Gently melt butter in a saucepan, then whisk in water and cocoa powder until smooth and fully blended.
  • Combine the velvety melted butter mixture with the flour until well mixed. Add in the eggs, buttermilk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, mixing until the batter is just moistened.
  • Use an electric mixer on medium speed to blend the batter until fully incorporated, approximately 1 minute.
  • Carefully fill ice cream cones with delectable chocolate cake batter, allowing a generous 1-inch gap at the top.
  • Place the cones in the preheated oven and bake until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cake comes out clean, approximately 30 minutes. This will keep the cones from becoming soggy.
  • Allow the cupcakes to cool completely for about 1 hour.
  • In a bowl, whisk together cream cheese, confectioners' sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract until creamy. Use the mixture to frost the cupcakes.
