Decadent pudding recipe passed down through generations, perfect warm or as pie filling.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup cornstarch
  • 3 cups milk
  • 3 egg yolks, beaten
Instructions:
  • Combine brown sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a small bowl. Stir in milk until a thick paste forms. Bring milk to a boil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add brown sugar mixture, return to a boil, and cook for 1 minute.
  • In a small bowl, place the egg yolks. Quickly temper the yolks by stirring in about 1/4 of the hot milk mixture. Pour the yolk mixture back into the hot milk mixture and return to heat. Cook while stirring constantly for 1 minute, then remove from heat. Stir in butter and vanilla until the butter is melted. Pour the mixture into bowls and allow it to cool slightly before serving.
