Simple oat bars with chocolate chips and crunchy almonds.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup sliced almonds
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups oatmeal
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) for perfect baking results.
  • Spread the almonds on a baking sheet and toast until golden brown and fragrant, approximately 5 minutes. Then, remove and set aside the nuts.
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add brown sugar and stir until dissolved and bubbly. Remove from heat and mix in vanilla and oatmeal. Press mixture into an 8 x 8 inch baking pan. Bake in preheated oven until lightly browned and set, approximately 20 minutes.
  • Take the baking pan out of the oven and let it cool for a bit. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top and allow them to melt for 2 to 3 minutes. Spread the melted chocolate smoothly over the oatmeal squares, then top it with toasted almonds. Once cooled, cut into squares and enjoy!
