Loaded baked potato soup with all the essential ingredients simmering together to create the perfect comfort dish.
Ingredients:
  • 8 large red potatoes
  • 1 (12 ounce) package bacon
  • 0.5 gallon milk
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
  • 1 (8 ounce) package processed cheese (such as Velveeta®), cubed
  • 1 (8 ounce) package shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon onion salt
  • ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Enclose the potatoes in foil.
  • Roast in the preheated oven until potatoes are fork-tender, about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Allow potatoes to cool until they are easy to touch, then dice into cubes and keep aside.
  • Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate, crumble, and set aside.
  • In a large pot over medium heat, melt together milk, cream, sour cream, processed cheese, and Cheddar cheese, stirring often, for about 10 minutes until smooth and creamy.
  • Combine the potatoes and bacon with the milk mixture and gently simmer over medium heat. Stir often until the potatoes start to dissolve into the soup, approximately 20 minutes. Season with onion salt and black pepper to taste.
