Indulge guilt-free in a decadent chocolate hazelnut breakfast spread - low-fat, low-carb, and low-calorie.
Ingredients:
  • 45g (1/4 cup) hazelnuts
  • 60g (1/2 cup) skim milk powder
  • 55g (1/4 cup, firmly packed) dark brown sugar
  • 25.00 gm cocoa powder, sifted
  • 10.00 gm cornflour
  • 160ml (2/3 cup) reduced-fat milk
  • 13.80 gm canola oil
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C. Spread hazelnuts on a baking tray and toast for 6-8 minutes until fragrant. Rub the toasted hazelnuts in a clean tea towel to remove the skins. Finely grind the nuts in a food processor.
  • In a small saucepan, mix together nuts, milk powder, brown sugar, cocoa powder, and cornflour. Gradually stir in the milk and oil. Cook over medium-high heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly until thick and smooth. Remove from heat when the mixture forms a thick paste.
  • Place the spread in a heatproof airtight container and let it cool to room temperature, uncovered.
