Savory stir-fried pork and tofu with fragrant spices and savory sauces over rice, garnished with fresh green onion.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 (1/2 inch) piece fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced, or more to taste
  • 0.5 pound ground pork
  • 2 teaspoons chili bean sauce (toban djan)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sake
  • 2 teaspoons oyster sauce
  • 1 (12 ounce) package tofu, cut into 1/2-inch squares
  • 0.5 cup water, or more if needed
  • 1 small green onion, chopped
Instructions:
  • In a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat, sauté ginger and garlic in sesame oil until garlic is lightly browned. Add pork, breaking it up and browning it. Mix in chili bean sauce, soy sauce, sake, and oyster sauce. Simmer until slightly thickened, about 3 minutes.
  • Adjust the sauce consistency with water (make sure it's not watery) and gently fold in the tofu. Simmer until the tofu is heated through and well coated, around 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Garnish with chopped green onion before serving.
