Oven-free creamy pasta bake with a tasty twist of mustard and basil to elevate the classic ham and cheddar combo. Budget-friendly and delicious.
Ingredients:
  • 1 x 400g packet pasta
  • 150g (1 cup) frozen peas
  • 2 x 530g bottles bechamel pasta sauce
  • 250ml (1 cup) milk
  • 40g (1/2 cup) coarsely grated cheddar
  • 5.90 gm wholegrain mustard
  • 125g ham slices, cut into thin strips
  • 125.00 ml fresh basil leaves
Instructions:
  • Boil pasta and peas in salted water until pasta is al dente, about 3 minutes. Drain and return to pan.
  • Heat a pan over medium-low heat, then add bechamel sauce, milk, cheddar, and mustard. Stir and cook for 1 minute until the cheddar melts and the mixture is heated through. Mix in the ham until well combined.
  • Serve the macaroni and cheese in individual dishes, garnish with fresh basil leaves, and enjoy right away.
