Upgrade classic Irish soda bread with tangy sour cream for a moist, tender texture. Enjoy warm wedges with creamy butter.
Ingredients:
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons caraway seeds
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 (16 ounce) container sour cream
  • 0.75 cup raisins
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  • Combine flour, sugar, caraway seeds, baking powder, salt, and baking soda in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs and sour cream together. Gently fold the sour cream mixture into the dry ingredients until just combined, then mix in raisins. Transfer the dough to the springform pan.
  • Bake the bread for 40 to 45 minutes until it rises and the top turns golden brown. Test for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center - it should come out clean. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before loosening the sides for removal. Slice into wedges and serve while warm.
