Indulge in a cozy breakfast with our family-favorite maicena: a creamy corn pudding with hints of vanilla and lemon.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup cornstarch
  • 2 cups milk
  • 0.5 cup white sugar, or to taste
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 slice lemon rind
Instructions:
  • In a pot over medium heat, gently heat the cornstarch. Gradually pour in the milk, then add the sugar and salt. Stir and cook until slightly thickened, approximately 15 minutes.
  • In a bowl, vigorously whip the egg yolks until smooth. Stir in 1/4 of the cornstarch mixture, then transfer the mixture to a pot. Cook and stir for about 1 minute until combined. Add the lemon rind and continue to cook and stir for 7 to 10 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat, add the vanilla extract, and mix thoroughly.
