Mamma K's Fig Preserve Cobbler

Create a decadent cobbler by mixing fig preserves into batter, bake and enjoy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 22 ounces fig preserves
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Add the butter to a baking dish and let it melt in the preheated oven for about 5 minutes.
  • In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, and baking powder. Add milk, egg, and vanilla extract and stir until smooth. Pour the batter into melted butter, then spoon fig preserves evenly on top.
  • Bake uncovered in a preheated oven for 20 minutes. Then cover with aluminum foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes until bubbly and lightly browned.
