Cheesy beef and bean tortilla chip casserole topped with Cheddar cheese - a kid-friendly favorite!
Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1.3333333730698 cups water
  • 2 (1 ounce) packages taco seasoning mix (such as McCormick® Original)
  • 1 (16 ounce) can hot chili beans, undrained
  • 1 (12 ounce) bag nacho cheese-flavored corn chips (such as Doritos®)
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages shredded mild Cheddar cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until crumbly and browned, about 10 minutes; drain excess grease. Stir in water and taco seasoning mix. Bring to a boil and simmer on low heat, stirring occasionally, until thickened, 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Simmer chili beans in a saucepan over gentle heat until they are heated through and start to bubble slightly.
  • Create delightful layers in a casserole dish alternating between tortilla chips, ground beef mixture, and chili beans until all ingredients are used. Finish by generously topping the casserole with mouthwatering Cheddar cheese.
  • Bake until the cheese is bubbly and the tortilla chips are golden brown, approximately 15 minutes in the preheated oven.
