Classic fudge made with rich unsweetened chocolate, creamy milk, and a touch of sugar.
Ingredients:
  • 2 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened baking chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
Instructions:
  • Grease a 9x9 inch baking dish with butter.
  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt chocolate, butter, and milk until boiling. Cook for 1 minute. Stir in sugar and salt until dissolved. Use a candy thermometer and heat the mixture to between 234 and 240 degrees F (112 to 116 degrees C), or until a small amount dropped into cold water forms a soft ball that flattens when placed on a surface. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla, and cool for 10 minutes.
  • Whisk the fudge vigorously until it no longer shines. Swiftly transfer the mixture into the greased dish. Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes until it sets.
