Elevate cheeseburgers with marinated balsamic mushrooms for a burst of tangy flavor.
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon-pepper seasoning
  • 2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup purchased balsamic vinaigrette
  • 4 kaiser rolls, split
  • 4 (1-oz.) slices Swiss cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat grill. Mix ground beef and 1 teaspoon lemon-pepper seasoning in a bowl. Form into 4 patties, each 1/2 inch thick.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the mushrooms, the remaining 1/2 teaspoon of lemon-pepper seasoning, and the vinaigrette until everything is well coated. Set it aside.
  • When it's time to grill, place the patties on a gas or charcoal grill over medium heat. Cook for 11 to 13 minutes, flipping once, until the patties are fully cooked.
  • For perfectly toasted rolls, grill with cut sides down for the last 1 to 2 minutes of cooking. Then, top each patty with 1 slice of cheese and cook for 1 more minute until the cheese is melted.
  • Lay the patties on the bottom halves of the rolls, spoon over the savory mushroom mixture, and then cover with the top halves of the rolls.
