Elevate your parties with vibrant Martian cake pops!
Ingredients:
  • 315g iced marble madeira cake
  • 125.00 ml vanilla frosting (see note)
  • 40.00 ml slivered almonds
  • 375g packet white chocolate melts, melted
  • Green gel food colouring
  • 62.50 ml rainbow choc chips
Instructions:
  • Using your hands, break up the cake with icing into small pieces in a large bowl. Keep breaking until finely crumbled. Mix in vanilla frosting using a wooden spoon until well combined. Divide the mixture into 24 portions and roll each into a smooth ball. Shape each ball into a pear shape. Place them on a baking paper-lined tray. Dip one end of 2 slivered almonds into melted chocolate and press them, chocolate side down, into the top of a cake to make antennae. Repeat for the rest of the cakes. Dip 2cm of one end of each skewer into melted chocolate and push halfway into each cake. Place on the tray and freeze for 30 minutes to set the chocolate.
  • Dye the remaining chocolate green by melting it in the microwave on medium (50%) for 30 seconds, or until smooth. Place 2/3 of the chocolate in a mug. Dip each cake into the melted chocolate, rocking it back and forth until fully coated. Avoid rotating or stirring to prevent crumbs in the chocolate. Remove the cake from the chocolate using a skewer, tapping off excess chocolate on the side of the mug and on the counter to smooth out any bumps. Secure the skewer in foam and quickly add rainbow chocolate chips as eyes. Repeat with the rest of the cakes, skewers, chocolate, and rainbow chips. Let the cakes stand for 10 minutes to set.
