Childhood beach memories inspire this nostalgic shrimp dish. Enjoy each savory bite!
Ingredients:
  • 250 g unsalted butter
  • 1 fresh bay leaf
  • 1 whole nutmeg for grating
  • 1 lemon
  • white pepper
  • 400 g brown shrimp
Instructions:
  • Melt 200g of butter in a small pan over low heat for 10 minutes until melted and separated. Strain the golden ‘clarified’ liquid into a small jug, discarding the milky bits, and let it cool slightly. In the same pan, melt the rest of the butter with bay leaves, grated nutmeg, lemon zest, and white pepper. Add the shrimp, lemon juice, and stir well. Cook for 1 minute, then transfer to a serving bowl or individual pots and press down firmly. Pour the reserved clarified butter on top, covering completely. Chill for 2 hours until set. Serve with freshly baked bread. Enjoy!
