Meemaw's Bourbon Balls

Bourbon-infused whiskey balls with vanilla wafer and pecan, coated in sweet confectioners' sugar and coconut for a delightful treat.
Ingredients:
1 (12 ounce) packagevanilla wafer cookies
8ounces pecans
1cupconfectioners' sugar
0.5 cupbourbon whiskey
3tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2tablespoons light corn syrup
0.5 cupflaked coconut, or to taste
0.25 cupconfectioners' sugar, or to taste, for rolling
Instructions:
Pulse cookies in a food processor until finely ground; then transfer to a large bowl.
In a food processor, finely grind pecans. Transfer the ground pecans to a mixing bowl with cookie crumbs. Add confectioners' sugar, bourbon whiskey, cocoa powder, and corn syrup. Mix until the mixture holds together, then shape into 3/4-inch balls.
*Spread a layer of coconut onto one plate and evenly distribute 1/4 cup of confectioners' sugar onto another plate. Roll the balls in the coconut and sugar mixture until fully coated. Place the coated balls on a serving platter, cover with plastic wrap, and chill in the refrigerator until firm, for at least 1 hour.*
