Versatile fruit cobbler that adapts to any fruit like raspberries, peaches, and cherries.
Ingredients:
  • 4 cups blackberries
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.66666668653488 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 0.66666668653488 cup milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) and generously oil a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large saucepan, combine blackberries, cornstarch, 1 1/2 cups of sugar, and water. Bring to a high boil, stirring constantly until the berries thicken, approximately 5 minutes. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish.
  • Mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and 2/3 cup of sugar in a bowl. Add the margarine and blend until pea-sized. Pour in the milk and mix until dough forms, then spoon onto the hot blackberry topping.
  • Bake until beautifully golden brown, for 30 to 45 minutes in the preheated oven.
