Microwave steamed asparagus - a speedy and effortless vegetable side dish. Ready in minutes!
Ingredients:
  • 1 bunch fresh asparagus
  • 0.25 cup water
  • 1 lemon
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.125 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions:
  • Snap off the woody ends of each asparagus spear and place them in a covered microwave-safe glass container. Add water.
  • Roll the lemon on a flat surface to release its juices, then cut it in half. Squeeze both halves over the asparagus and sprinkle with pepper and garlic powder.
  • Cover container and microwave on high until vegetables are tender-crisp, about 5 to 6 minutes. Drain and allow to stand for 5 minutes before serving.
