Award-winning soft sugar cookies with a delicate and light flavor, perfect for festive cut-out cookies during the holidays.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
Instructions:
  • Cream the margarine and gradually add the sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Mix in the fragrant vanilla extract. Gradually fold in the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt into the creamy mixture with care. Cover and refrigerate the dough overnight.
  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and prepare your baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
  • Flatten dough on a floured surface to 1/8 to 1/4 inch thickness, then use cookie cutters to create your desired shapes. Transfer cookies to baking sheets.
  • Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 6 to 8 minutes until the cookie turns golden.
